Sedation Reduces Anxiety
If you're always incredibly anxious about coming to see us, oral sedation may help. Some of our patients are so nervous about their appointments that they don't come in regularly or put off coming in even when they're in pain. Some oral sedation methods such as laughing gas are painless and don't require any needles. If you're anxious about coming in, let us know and we will provide you with options for dealing with your anxiety.
Sedation Reduces Pain
Many people simply don't want to see us for whatever reason. It's not always about the pain, but sometimes that is the issue. Some people simply have a low tolerance for pain. Even a good cleaning can cause these patients to hurt for days. Oral sedation will keep you comfortable and lower the pain you feel during the procedure.
You Will Be Comfortable Some people do have difficulty sitting comfortably in one of our exam chairs for long periods of time. Young patients may not want to remain still for so long, while some of our older patients may have back issues that cause pain after they sit for a while. Sedation can help with this issue, allowing patients to sit or even drift off to sleep while we're working. This is especially helpful if you're going to have several dental procedures done at once. You can get everything completed in one setting while under sedation instead of coming back several times.
