Drinks That Can Help Ease Mouth Pain Until You Can See Us

When you are suffering from mouth pain, waiting for treatment can be tough. Nobody wants to experience discomfort throughout their day as it is incredibly distracting and makes life miserable overall.
The good news is that you can help ease mouth pain temporarily by drinking certain beverages that you likely have in your home. Here are a few for you to try out.
Cold Water
Yes, something as simple as water can help soothe toothaches and burns! Drinking ice water acts like applying ice to an injury and helps suppress the pain. Just be sure not to chew on the ice as that is harmful to your teeth- although you can leave the ice in your mouth if you would like.
Milk
Not only is milk good for your teeth by providing a large dose of calcium to help strengthen the structure of them, but it can also help with burns to the mouth. Sipping on milk coats a burn wound and helps suppress the pain to the user. Other dairy products such as yogurt can also be used for this. If you are lactose intolerant, you can try cashew milk. Oat milk, or almond milk. You can also use milk that has had the lactose removed from it. Just don't use this as an excuse to eat a whole pint of ice cream!
Iced Green Tea
The same effect from ice water applies here except this time you gain the health benefits of green tea such as antioxidants. And if you are sipping on green tea all day, you can expect a generous caffeine boost- something to be careful of before bedtime! If you are feeling pain in your mouth and haven't scheduled an appointment yet, give our office a call and we can book an appointment for you.
